Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

Coulter: Disenfranchise women to save the country from Democrats

Ann Coulter is an expert when it comes to ginning up publicity to drive book sales, and this time is no different. From Neal Boortz:

Ann Coulter has a new book. “If Democrats Had Any Brains, They’d be Republicans.” Suggested subtitle … “You Can’t Fix Stupid.”

I guess we now know just what sentence, paragraph or thought expressed in Coulter’s book is going to be used by the MoveOn Democrat Party and the loony left in an attempt to demonize her.

Here’s an excerpt from an interview with Ann Coulter by George Gurley. Here we find Coulter talking about women:

“If we took away women’s right to vote, we’d never have to worry about another Democrat president. It’s kind of a pipe dream, it’s a personal fantasy of mine, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. And it is a good way of making the point that women are voting so stupidly, at least single women.”

The left is sure to jump on this like a crow on a June bug. Thing is …. Coulter is exactly right. Don’t take her word for it, just read “Freedomnomics” by John Lott. Here we have a renowned economist going all the way back to the late 1980s to see what happens when women get the vote. His findings? In every single case, when women were given the right to vote the cost of government immediately began to rise as women, particularly single women, started voting for the candidates who would create more government spending programs designed to provide women with security. That magic word .. .security.

Lott found that young single women overwhelmingly vote liberal. When they marry and start a family they start voting more conservatively. That would be because their sense of security is provided by their family, and they don’t want government to interfere in their accumulation of wealth. Then, if that very same woman starts to feel that her marriage is threatened … or if she becomes divorced … she right back there voting for liberals again. Why? Security .. this time from the government instead of her husband.

Coulter is right. Deal with it.

Coulter may be right, but seriously, who wants to go on record suggesting that women be stripped of their voting priveleges? I don’t. Also, Coulter does the same thing that leftists do that gets me angrier than Shrillary at the sight of a Marine: lump people into a group identity. All women do not vote Democrat, and consequently, all men do not vote Republican.

I can and do accept Lott’s research and observations about women’s voting patterns. I do not accept Coulter’s idea, even though it was just a “what-if”/”I’m just sayin’…” scenario.

  1. I don’t think she was saying every young single woman votes Democrat in a literal sense — she obviously is an exception to that rule herself (as am I – Thank God!), but she is 100% correct in her assertion that young single women predominantly vote Democrat. But I believe it’s more out of ignorance, than a need for security.

  2. Now, see KG….

If you were a public figure, the MSM would be screaming “Kanaka Girl says women ignorant”.

  3. Well I consider Ann Coulter to be amusing but I guess her little joke could be considered an attack on women.
    Mainly from hypersensitive women.

I agree that lumping people into simplistic categories is annoying and condescending!

  5. Just wanted to stop in and say Hi! You made some great comments on my blog and hoped to reciprocate…LOL I like Ann Coulter, but sometimes she goes overboard. It’s like she doesn’t have a self preservation bone in her whole body. I can’t remember if I voted Democrat when I was younger, but now that I have a family, and family values, I am a Conservative in every sense of the word.

  6. Now Jd, that wasn’t a very nice thing to say. Those are the exact words a liberal who votes democrat would use.

  7. I’m not a liberal and I don’t vote democrat. A person can strongly dislike Coulter and still be conservative. She adds nothing but trash talk to the political arena. She’s an embarrassment.

  8. She adds nothing but trash talk to the political arena.

Jd, when you make statements like: Ann Coulter is what you find when the Roto Rooter man unclogs the drains.

You don’t add much to the political arena, or any arena for that matter, either.

Lighten up pal, you sound like an angry, bitter person with pent-up frustration and issues.

  9. I like Ann Coulter. Yes, she’s a bit abrasive at times, but she’s brilliant and she says what she thinks. You have to at least respect her for her honesty.

  10. Coulter can say what she likes. But young women are pretty addle-brained and we just don’t like to admit it. They are wrapped up in their appearance and what people think of them and how to be involved with men. You can see them every day yabbering away on their cell phones in the left lane on the highway oblivious to other drivers, not using turn signals and upset if anyone challenges them. But I didn’t know they even voted. I thought they were too busy with their clothes and makeup. Young men are almost as addle brained but since they usually can do math better they get the numbers thing and don’t want to pay more taxes. There are exceptions among young women and men but generally stupid is as stupid does…

  11. Brilliant from Ann again. I’d make women take a test to be able to vote. If you peg past 30% on the Socialism meter, you don’t get to vote.

  12. Ann Coulter clearly has a Mental Disorder. I suspect she might be bipolar
but its more likely that she has Anti-social Personality Disoder. Either way, she needs to be medicated at the very least, if that doesnt work throw her ass in the psych ward for observation.
