Canadian Muslim kills teenage daughter for defying sharia

From Canuckistan:

A Mississauga, Ont. man will be formally charged on Tuesday with murder in connection with the death of his 16-year-old daughter.

The girl, Aqsa Parvez, was in critical condition on Monday after being strangled, apparently after a dispute with her family over her refusal to wear the hijab, the Islamic headscarf worn by some Muslim women.

However Peel Regional Police said Tuesday the girl died late Monday night.

Police arrested the victim’s 57-year-old father, Muhammad Parvez on Monday morning after receiving a 911 call from a Mississauga home from a man saying he had killed his daughter. He is due to appear on Tuesday in a Brampton, Ont. court.

The victim’s 26-year-old brother, Waqas Parvez, was also charged with obstructing police.

Friends of the teenager, a Grade 11 student at Applewood Heights high school, said Monday they were shocked by the attack on the outgoing, likeable girl, but said she had been threatened by her strictly religious family before.

Ebonie Mitchell, 16, a friend of the victim, said the conflict with her father over wearing Islamic dress came to a head at the beginning of this school year. “She just wanted to dress like we do,” she said. “Last year, she wore like the Islamic stuff and everything, the hijab, and this year she’s all western. She just wanted to look like everyone else.”

But if we just respect their culture (including the homicidal aspects of it), then they’d like us more and would wish us no harm, right?

Humor: “Offended Muslim Syndrome”

Check out this post from The People’s Cube regarding a disease that has struck the Religion of the Perpetually Offended.  Excerpt:

Symptoms of Offended Muslim Syndrome (OMS)

  • Irritability, agitation, anxiety at the sight of women who are not fully covered
  • Prolonged rage or unexplained killing sprees
  • Significant changes in immigration patterns
  • Brooding about the past glory of the Caliphate
  • Decreased effectiveness and minimal work productivity
  • Difficulty in understanding new information without a trial lawyer
  • Feelings of despair or hopelessness about the existence of Israel
  • Recurring thoughts of death to the infidels

In order to guard against OMS, health officials warn individuals who are at risk to make sure that the objective reality they are exposed to does not:

  • Make them aware of the outside world
  • Trigger curiosity about the Western notions of “logic” or “rationality”
  • Make life more enjoyable
  • Cause them to question the need for martyrdom
  • Have side effects such as independent thinking and longing to live as a productive individual
  • Create an illusion that communication with infidels is possible without hostage-taking

Seriously, go read it.  Hilarity will ensue.

Global “warming” is both “natural and unstoppable”

There once was a time in the world where science would have prevailed over politics and junk science.  Stories like this would have put a nail in the coffin of the enviro-Chicken Little movement:

As much of the U.S. is being blasted by vicious ice storms, a blockbuster report published in a prestigious scientific journal insists that the evidence shows that climate warming is both natural and unstoppable and that carbon dioxide (CO2) is not a pollutant.

Writing in the International Journal of Climatology of the Royal Meteorological Society, professor David H. Douglass (of the University of Rochester), professor John R. Christy (of the University of Alabama), Benjamin D. Pearson and professor S. Fred Singer (of the University of Virginia) report that observed patterns of temperature changes (“fingerprints”) over the last 30 years disagree with what greenhouse models predict and can better be explained by natural factors, such as solar variability.

The conclusion is that climate change is “unstoppable” and cannot be affected or modified by controlling the emission of greenhouse gases, such as CO2, as is proposed in current legislation.

According to Dr. Douglass: “The observed pattern of warming, comparing surface and atmospheric temperature trends, does not show the characteristic fingerprint associated with greenhouse warming. The inescapable conclusion is that the human contribution is not significant and that observed increases in carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases make only a negligible contribution to climate warming.

One of his co-authors, Dr. John Christy, added: “Satellite data and independent balloon data agree that atmospheric warming trends do not exceed those of the surface. Greenhouse models, on the other hand, demand that atmospheric trend values be 2-3 times greater.

“We have good reason, therefore, to believe that current climate models greatly overestimate the effects of greenhouse gases. Satellite observations suggest that GH models ignore negative feedbacks, produced by clouds and by water vapor, that diminish the warming effects of carbon dioxide.”

And the third co-author, Dr. S. Fred Singer, said: “The current warming trend is simply part of a natural cycle of climate warming and cooling that has been seen in ice cores, deep-sea sediments, stalagmites, etc., and published in hundreds of papers in peer-reviewed journals.

“The mechanism for producing such cyclical climate changes is still under discussion; but they are most likely caused by variations in the solar wind and associated magnetic fields that affect the flux of cosmic rays incident on the earth’s atmosphere.

“In turn, such cosmic rays are believed to influence cloudiness and thereby control the amount of sunlight reaching the earth’s surface and thus the climate.

“Our research demonstrates that the ongoing rise of atmospheric CO2 has only a minor influence on climate change. We must conclude, therefore, that attempts to control CO2 emissions are ineffective and pointless — but very costly.”

The sun’s increasing activity, causing “warming”?  What a novel concept!

Ron Paul: The U.S. created Chavez and Castro

The Bircheresque crank blamed America for the rise in power of commie/socialist dictators Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro in Venezuela and Cuba, respectively.  During the Hispandering session (the Spanish-speaking GOP debate) the other night, Capt. Crazy laid this down:

PAUL: But let me — let me tell you — let me tell you why — let me tell you why we have a problem in South America and Central America: because we’ve been involved in their internal affairs for so long. We have been meddling in their business.

(APPLAUSE)

We create the Chavezes of the world, we create the Castros of the world by interfering and creating chaos in their countries, and they respond by throwing out their leader.

(AUDIENCE BOOING)
(APPLAUSE)

MODERATOR: Thank you, Congressman.

The “Blame America” mentality is seen every day on the left, but as Paul shows, they don’t corner the market on it.

Naomi Wolf a Truther

The feminist who tried to make Al Gore an alpha male by wearing “earth tones” is a Troofer nutbar.  Video clip here.  Teaser quote: “Two days after 9-11 I was reading they’re shipping the molten metal out to China!”  Uh…WTF?

Why am I even mentioning her?  Dude, when would I ever pass up an opportunity to make fun of feminists, and do you really expect me to let that “earth tones” thing fly?  😀

Second Amendment saves lives in CO shooting

An armed security guard blasted the psycho shooter at the New Life Church in Colorado Springs.  Sorry, lefties, but she’s a hero (or, if you prefer, a heroine).  Details:

The woman who shot a gunman inside New Life Church says her hands were not even shaking when it happened.

Jeanne Assam was working security at New Life on Sunday when 24-year-old Matthew Murray began shooting in the parking lot. Three people, including Murray, died during the attack at the 10,000-plus member New Life Church.

Police said Monday afternoon that Murray was also responsible for a shooting that left two others dead at the Youth With a Mission center in Arvada. Five others were injured in the attacks.

Assam, a former police officer from Minneapolis, says she was inside the church when she heard gunfire from the parking lot.

“The shots were so loud I thought he was inside and he wasn’t even inside yet,” Assam said on Monday afternoon. “There was chaos. There were a lot of people in the church.”

“I saw him coming through the doors and I took cover. And I waited for him to get closer and came out of cover and identified myself and engaged him and took him down,” she said.

She appeared along side New Life Church Pastor Brady Boyd at the news conference on Monday.

“If we had not had an armed person on our campus, 50 to 100 people could have lost their lives yesterday,” said Boyd.

Hmmmm…and to think, she’s not even part of a “well-regulated militia”!
