Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

Canadian province’s premier: Socialized medicine is so wicked awesome here in Canuckistan that I’m flying to the U.S. for my heart surgery

Dude’s been a huge proponent and defender of socialized medicine, but when it comes to his own health, it’s a totally different tune he’s singing.  Beauty, eh?  Details:

Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Danny Williams is set to undergo heart surgery this week in the United States.

CBC News confirmed Monday that Williams, 60, left the province earlier in the day and will have surgery later in the week.

The premier’s office provided few details, beyond confirming that he would have heart surgery and saying that it was not necessarily a routine procedure.

Single-payer for thee, but not for me…eh, Canuckistan?

Here’s guessing that this won’t be in Mikie Moore’s next mockumentary.

Quote of the day, “Gibbs said WHAT?” edition

BEVERAGE WARNING!  If you are imbibing at the moment, you are hereby warned to cease…lest you spew your drink all over your monitor after reading this gem from B.O.’s spokestool, Robert Gibbs:

We are where we are today partly because of this economic downturn, but partly because for a long time we had two wars that we weren’t paying for. We had tax cuts that we weren’t paying for. And we had a prescription drug benefit that, although very worthy, we never paid for.

We have to return to some very common-sense principles that everyday Americans live by every time they go to the grocery store or want to go to the movies or cash their paycheck, and that is you can’t spend more than you have.

Seriously?  Did the mouthpiece for President Trillion-Plus Deficit just say that?

Oh, yes…yes he did.
