Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

AP shocked to see “unexpected” rise in unemployment benefit claims

Some of you may have noticed that the MSM has dutifully carried the administration’s water when it comes to reporting economic news.  Every time a jobs report or an unemployment benefits claims report comes out that bears grim news, the MSM recycles the term “unexpected” to try and soften the blow.  Here is yet another example:

The number of people filing new claims for unemployment benefits unexpectedly rose last week by the largest amount in three months. The big surge was a setback to hopes that layoffs were declining.

The Labor Department says that applications for unemployment benefits rose to 471,000 last week, up by 25,000 from the previous week. It was the first increase in five weeks and the biggest jump since a gain of 40,000 in February.

Other than “Because our boy B.O. says so”, on what basis does the MSM expect good economic news?  With an administration and liberal Congress so reflexively anti-business and pro-taxes, there are really no good reasons to expect unemployment to fall any time soon.

Nope…no liberal media bias!
