Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

Obama Super Bowl bash: All the food and drinks we peons aren’t supposed to have

Details:

President Barack Obama is turning again to fermented alcoholic beverages to find common ground between antagonists, this time fans of the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

For his Super Bowl party Sunday evening, Obama is offering Yuengling Lager and Light, brewed in Pennsylvania, and Hinterland Pale Ale and Amber Ale, all the way from Wisconsin. Independents can pour down some White House Honey Ale if they like.

The rest of the menu for the 100 or so guests at the White House bash is tailgate-friendly even if served inside the Executive Mansion: bratwurst, kielbasa, cheeseburgers, deep-dish pizza and Buffalo wings with sides of German potato salad, twice-baked potatoes and assorted chips and dips.

Wonder if Shelly O’s salt task force was there to monitor the situation?

Look, before I get accused of having “Obama Derangement Syndrome” again, let me point out my beef (no pun inteded): As is typical with liberals, there are rules that apply to us mortals, and then there are rules that apply to our betters.

Hey, if the prez wants to get schnonkered and clog his arteries with fatty foods, I doubt I could possibly care less than I already do.  But for the love of Pete, do not tell me that I need to lay off of the same stuff that you are downing unless you are willing to live by example.  I mean, Bill Clinton would be correct if he lauded the virtues of marital monogamy, but the fatally flawed messenger could inhibit the otherwise worthwhile lesson, no?

  1. But for the love of Pete, do not tell me that I need to lay off of the same stuff that you are downing unless you are willing to live by example.

Would that also apply to Obamacare?

  2. I would venture to say that cigarettes kill more people than pizza and wings.
When O-blah-blah quits smoking, maybe then I’ll try tofu…
