Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

Jake Tapper of ABC News: Which is worse, default or a short-term raising of debt ceiling that avoids default? O’s spokesfool: Don’t really know, Jake.

Hypothetical question for you folks.

Which is worse: your house getting foreclosed upon, or your lender giving you a year to get your financial shiite together before your house gets foreclosed upon?

I’m thinking that losing my house would be tons more horrific.  While a year from now there is no guarantee that my financial picture would be any better, it still (a) gives me a year to come up with a plan and (b) avoids the devastation caused by an impending foreclosure.

Obaby’s spokesmoron, Jay Carney, isn’t really sure about that.  Here’s a link to the transcript, but all you really need to know is that when ABC’s Jake Tapper pushes Carney on “Which is worse, default or agreeing to a short-term debt ceiling increase that will be readdressed next year (a campaign year)?”, Carney responds thusly:

CARNEY:  Both are bad; I can’t choose which is worse for you.

Got that?  “Hey, man, that’s a good question!  I mean, sure we can avoid a calamity now by passing a short-term increase in the debt ceiling.  But do you know what that will do to B.O.’s campaign message next year?  His re-election is way more important than averting a crisis!”

To Oprompter and his minions, anything that causes him grief politically, even if it’s better for the country, will not be tolerated.

  1. No surprise there. Its all about the re-election of the Ovimit, not the country. The country doesn’t matter. What crisis? Huh? Way past time for him to go away.
