Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

Holder goes after TX voter ID law, turns blind eye to ID rules in other arenas

There’s this

The Obama administration on Tuesday will wade into the increasingly divisive national debate over new voting laws in several states that could depress turnout among minorities and others who helped elect the president in 2008. …

With the presidential campaign heating up, Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. will deliver a speech Tuesday expressing concerns about the voter-identification laws, along with a Texas redistricting plan before the Supreme Court that fails to take into account the state’s burgeoning Hispanic population, he said in an interview Monday.

Holder will speak at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Libary and Museum in Austin, Tex., which honors the president who shepherded the 1965 Voting Rights Act into law. …

When it comes to voting fraud, some conservatives have long argued that it is a serious problem, although others say the number of such cases is relatively low. Studies of the issue have reached different conclusions on the extent of the problem.

“You constantly hear about voter fraud . . . but you don’t see huge amounts of vote fraud out there,’’ Holder said.

…as opposed to this:

You’re not seeing things.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) has  given 99% of its campaign money to Democrats (according to,  citing Democrats, including Obama administration Attorney  General Eric Holder, who will be in Austin, Texas tomorrow supporting the  rejection of voter-ID laws and, according  to the Texas GOP, “NAACP plans to involve the United Nations on (sic) US  elections,” abhor the idea of making voters bring some form of photo  identification to the polls.

Yet the IAM in the instance photographed required a photo ID of all who  wished to vote in a contract ratification election. From the looks of the  professionally made sign, the photo-ID requirement in the union’s elections  would appear to be far from an isolated instance. Gosh, I wonder why?

Doug  Ross’s reaction: “Needle on Hypocrisy-Meter Breaks Off.”

At some point during all these years of covering the voter-ID issue, you  would think that someone in the press, much of which is unionized (specifically  the Associated Press, which has the credit for the photo above), would have  noted that unions at least occasionally and likely far more than occasionally  require that members present a photo ID to be able to cast their ballots. Nope.  How typically irresponsible.

Translation: Requiring picture ID in order to receive Social Security, Medicare, welfare, a library card, a driver’s license. are totally cool, and requiring picture ID to vote in certain (i.e. union) elections is only sensible.  But requiring picture ID for the most sacred act of our republic is racist.  Or something.

  1. Honesty. Integrity. Righteousness. Please God save our nation. Simple request bring a photo id in order to vote for the highest office in our land.

  2. Here we go with the voter fraud. This is all designed to get the Marxist re-elected.

Again.. WHY is Eric Holder NOT in prison???

Comment by Kanaka Girl | December 14, 2011

  3. 1)Kanaka…he;s not in prison because liberals are immune from prosecution.

    2) They actually claim that “low numbers of fraud” is sufficient reason not to PREVENT fraud? Wow. Maybe every republican should show up early and claim to be registered democrats and vote in their place since they pretend to believe that proving that you are entitled to vote should not be an “obstacle” to casting that vote??? Oh wait…liberals cheat at the ballots, that’s right!
    3) Clearly the left relies heavily on voter fraud in their elections (Former Memphis Mayor Herenton’s first “win” was clouded in allegations of the dead rising to vote for him). Liberals to not want to be ELECTED, they want to WIN…and there is the difference. If they can CHEAT to win, even if it bypasses the actual will of the people…they’re COOL with that!

  4. Kevin, expecting a liberal to make sense, which is what you’re doing, can make ya crazier than a liberal. Expecting the marxist regime to make sense is guaranteed to make ya insane. Don’t listen to Holder, Ovomit, etc. They increase your visits to the shrink, and more medication. Trust me on this one.
    Liberalism is a mental disorder.

  6. JG…who on EARTH (sure not ME) ever said I expected liberals to make sense?!?! ?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?! The fact that they ARE liberal defies common sense! I DEEPLY apologize if I said anything whatsoever to convey such an expectation (and please, feel free to point out anything I said that actually coveys such, because I will make darn sure NOT to repeat such insanity)

  7. So, according to the NAACP…only WHITE people have ID’s? How else are minority votes “suppressed” unless they hold the position that only white people have ID? hmmmmm…oh yeah, they can say stupid stuff all day long and not answer for it

  8. Amazing that the dems are against photo id to vote. Voters voted and passed a law here in Missouri to require a photo id to vote, and it was ruled unconstitutional. I think you should not only have to submit a photo id, but also should leave the poll with a purple finger to ensure that you’re not going to vote again.
