UPDATED: Op-ed: If Tebow’s Broncos win the Super Bowl, then Christians will attack mosques, gays, and immigrants…or something
UPDATES BELOW.
You would expect to find such a disjointed absurd contention from a moonbat rag or MSNBC (pardon the redundancy). But this is from a rabbi, of all people, at The Jewish Week:
If Tebow wins the Super Bowl, against all odds, it will buoy his faithful, and emboldened faithful can do insane things, like burning mosques, bashing gays and indiscriminately banishing immigrants. While America has become more inclusive since Jerry Falwell’s first political forays, a Tebow triumph could set those efforts back considerably.
Um…okay.
See, Christians didn’t burn mosques, attack gays, or try to force immigrants (legal? illegal? doesn’t say) out of America after 9/11. No, instead the proverbial straw to break the camelhumping jihadist’s back would be…a Super Bowl win? By a team with a QB who espouses the exact opposite behavior of that predicted by the rabbi.
Look, as an FSU guy, I’m not the biggest Tebow fan by anyone’s definition, and the tears he always childishly cried after a loss were rich and delicious. That said, I more than respect the guy for his faith, character, and behavior. Anti-Christian bigotry is one thing. But the rabbi here is really stretching to create some bigotry here.
UPDATED (12/15/2011 – 08:22 AM EST): WOW! The entire column has been scrapped, removed from the rag’s web site. Down the memory hole, as if it never really happened! I’m guessing the online fishwrap got more than its fair share of vocal criticism, and it wanted the mess to go away post haste. Words have consequences, pal! 😆

The rabbi is an idiot…plain and simple. Yeah, nothing as anger-stirring as winning a football championship.
What a tool.

I’m not the biggest Tebow fan by anyone’s definition, and the tears he always childishly cried after a loss were rich and delicious.
Fortunately, he didn’t have to shed many tears when they played FSU. 🙂

BURN!
Comment by Kevin | December 14, 2011
Hardly anyone did in that stretch, considering we were averaging 5 losses a year. Instead, he cried like a child who had his toy taken away after playing LSU, Auburn, Bama, UGa, Michigan, and Ole Miss. 😛

What is wrong with a few tears? He loves the game and takes things to heart. Doesn’t make him less of a man.

I think we’re getting off topic, KG, but…
In 1993, #1 FSU lost at #2 Notre Dame. Seminoles WR Matt Frier cried after the tough loss, begging the AP and coaches pollsters to “give us another chance!” Nole haters in general, and Gator fans in particular, delighted in it and called him “Matt Cryer”. Heck, Seminoles fans (myself included) were embarrassed: Dude, it’s a painful loss, but man up!
Funny what a difference a change in color makes. Timmy cried after his losses like a baby whose rattle has been yanked away by the nanny ‘cuz he didn’t get his way. The same Gator fans who taunted Matt “Cryer” defend Timmy as merely being a “competitor” and “taking things to heart.” Geez, Tebow could gun down a bus load of school kids, and a lot of Gator fans would contend that the little snot nosed b#stards had it coming to them. (Not saying you’re one of those fans, but here in Gator Hellhole Central, I know more than enough to support my theory).
No, crying doesn’t make one less than a man. Crying because you didn’t get your way does, though.
Anywho, can we get back to the things we agree on, such as what a jackwagon this rabbi is? 😆
Comment by crushliberalism | December 14, 2011
Well, what else can we say about the rabbonehead? That’s “been proven”. Let’s make more fun of cry babies! haha

Say it ain’t so KG. You’re NOT a Gator are you?
Comment by tnjack | December 15, 2011
Sorry to disappoint you tnjack…..I went to school in Colorado…..but am a Gator by birth. 🙂
I actually root for the Noles when they’re not playing Florida……so I’m not that hardcore. I just like to give Crush a hard time.

My favorite NFL team is whoever’s playing Denver, so a Bronco Championship would not embolden me to do anything. But I am a Christian and as such, I don’t … oops! … look at the time! I’m late for my immigrant banishing meeting at the church. BRB…

LOL. Bonafide! 😆

You think maybe this “so-called-rabbi” has been going to church with Rev. Wright?
Comment by tnjack | December 15, 2011
well well…any chance that human feminine hygiene device will be flushed down that same hole of forgetfulness?
