Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

California about to run out of cash

But hey, these mouthbreathers want to keep putting Democrats in charge, so with all due apologies to my conservative friends trapped on the Left Coast, my sympathy fuel tank is on fumes right now.  Details:

California will run out of cash by early March if the state does not take swift action to find $3.3 billion through payment delays and borrowing, according to a letter state Controller John Chiang sent to state lawmakers today.

The announcement is surprising since lawmakers previously believed the state had enough cash to last through the fiscal year that ends in June.

New state motto: Sure, we’re bankrupt, businesses are fleeing like crazy, our taxes are oppressive, we have rolling blackouts, and no one here speaks English anymore…but hey, at least Republicans aren’t running the show, right?

  1. Yep…and perhaps end it with “Smoke all the weed you want, and if you’re a homosexual, we are ALL for you!”

  2. 😆 I love your new motto for my state. That pretty much sums it up. Hahaha

  3. Never again will I visit Calexico. I just don’t get it. Why are the majority of folks who live there, so stupid as to keep electing politicians who are continually killing their economy. Doesn’t make sense to me. Truly the state of the fruits, nuts and flakes.
    Liberalism is a mental disorder.

  4. As a native Moonbatafornian, it sickens me to see the apathy of so many who either don’t vote or who are politically unconscious here. Ask just about anyone who their district legislators are and their first response will almost certainly be either, “What’s a district?” or “Qué dice?”

Of course, ours is a slightly different form of state government. In CA, our “Legislative branch” consists of: 1) A State Assembly. 2) A State Senate and 3) The Ninth Circuit Court.

But that’s okay because while the vast majority here have no clue as to what our legislature is doing to drive CA into oblivion, they will be relieved to know at least the driving will be done with a smaller carbon footprint. And that, thanks in part to a days old mandate, that requires 1 in 7 new cars sold in CA in 2025 to be an electric or other zero-emission vehicle.

I guess it’s about time we move to one of the other 56 states…

  5. Hey Spinney Liberal and Im_bonafide, we should start our own party! What a lot of people don’t realize is the majority of the land area of the state is “red”, including a lot of San Diego and Orange County(remember Duncan Hunter is San Diego!). Look at a red/blue map of CA sometime. It is so sad. I have no idea what to do about CA. The Blue has controlled everything, and the rest of us pay. We are pretty Conservative in my area (even though the SF disease is creeping here). We have a really good State Senator who just announced he is not running for re-election. Maybe he is going for a different office? I hope. I haven’t heard, but I would not blame him for quitting the madness that is Sacramento. It is as horrible as it can be there.

My daughter and her husband moved to Idaho last year. They love it. It is really tempting. But I hate to throw in the towel and move from a state I love. What did that old Warren Zevon song say? … “Send lawyers guns & money!” We have more than our share of lawyers… so I guess just send guns & money!

    And pray.
