Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

Even many liberals turning against Obama on his decision to force Catholic institutions to violate their religious tenets in health care coverage

From the Washington comPost:

The White House sought Tuesday to soothe concerns over a controversial birth control rule that has led to Republican attacks and tension among close allies of the administration.

The efforts followed mounting criticism from Catholics and other faith leaders that a new rule requiring certain religious institutions to cover contraception as part of their employee health plans violates their constitutional rights.

And they came as White House officials began hearing complaints from some of their own allies and advisers, who view the rule as a policy mistake that feeds what they see as an unfair charge from Republicans: that President Obama is anti-religion.  (Yeah, really!  It’s unfair to note that the guy is pro-abortion, thumbs his nose at the church and the Constitution to throw a bone to his moonbat base, etc. … but hey, where would you get the crazy idea that the guy is anti-religion or anything? – CL)

Even Chris Matthews?  Dude, when Tingles says his boy’s wrong, that should make the front page of the comPost!

Normally, the Catholic church runs interference for the Democrats.  I’m guessing that’s why Chairman Zero shoved this down their throats: he figured they’d stick with him and his party like they always do.  Considering they backed ObamaCare in the first place, I’m not sure why they are surprised by this.  Unless they thought they could get a waiver just like every other B.O.-friendly organization that also didn’t want to be subject to ObamaCare’s onerous requirements.

  1. Yeah, but on election day, it will be a liberal version of the RNC…where the RNC will say “pull together and vote against Obama, despite your differences”, I predict this will quickly fade when the election campaign gears up. The libs will similarly reflect the idea that “yeah, that sucked, but we still have to vote for the liberal to prevent the Republicans from getting the Oval Office”. It won’t influence much, ultimately…but it is noteworthy!

  2. If I were Pope, I’d simply excommunicate every Catholic in the administration for subverting the tenets of the religion, or something.
I do agree with Kevin. This will blow over, then the “sheeple” Catholics and others, will vote for the liberal agenda. They’ll be thinking everything is okay, until his first week in a new term(God forbid) when he reinstates his anti-christian agenda. How could a muslim do anything else? Remember muzzies are allowed to lie to further the cult of Islam.
    Liberalism is a mental disorder.

  3. I’m going to get yelled at here, but the former Catholic in me finds it amusing to see all these middle aged men starting to slightly abide by the (ridiculous) doctrine so they can secure their spot in heaven. Blech.

  4. Alli, my issue is actually not their doctrine-I have great issue with much Catholic doctrine, actually. My issue is the freedoms encroached upon my the man who is most hostile to our Republic than ever seen in high public office.
just wondering, though…aside from you just SAYING it is so, what supports your statement that those who are at issue with the role are trying to “… secure their spot in Heaven”?
perhaps they have real issue, and your statement is merely the unsupported assertion of someone with a prejudice….(ex: “middle aged men”, “blech”).
mot yelling, just making an observation that you assert something without supporting it with anything burnings at a certain demographic (age group) and follow with “blech”. What other doctrines, at the time you posted that, were you aware of that the “middle aged men” were ignoring? (and google search after the fact doesn’t count)

  5. ok…autocorrect messed some of that up…my apologies for any words that obviously don’t fit into the context! Lol

  6. No problem Kevin. I don’t associate middle-aged men with “blech” either. But while I have no problem with people returning to their faith at whatever point in their lives (if they ever went away), I do notice among politicians, acquaintances and even family members. Perhaps it’s the annoying dogma and hypocrisy that exhibited. Or maybe I’m just blinded by my own annoyances with that particular religion. I can’t even walk into a Catholic church for a funeral without groaning.
