Advice to Romney: Go big, or go home!
Krauthammer has a great column about this. Excerpts:
It makes you think how far ahead Romney would be if he were actually running a campaign. His unwillingness to go big, to go for the larger argument, is simply astonishing.
For six months, he’s been matching Obama small ball for small ball. A hit-and-run critique here, a slogan-of-the-week there. His only momentum came when he chose Paul Ryan and seemed ready to engage on the big stuff: Medicare, entitlements, tax reform, national solvency, a restructured welfare state. Yet he has since retreated to the small and safe.
…
Romney has accumulated tons of cash for 30-second ads. But unless they’re placed on the scaffolding of serious speeches making the larger argument, they will be treated as nothing more than tit for tat.
Make the case. Go large. About a foreign policy in ruins. About an archaic, 20th-century welfare state model that guarantees 21st-century insolvency. And about an alternate vision of an unapologetically assertive America abroad unafraid of fundamental structural change at home.
It might just work. And it’s not too late.
I sure as heck hope not.
Obama hearts “redistribution”
Notice in the video clip the Alinsky-like laugh of ridicule when confronted with the assertion that he’s a socialist. But hey, who are you gonna believe: The One, or your lying eyes & ears?
Socialism fails. Every time. Without exception.
Humor alert, “M.C. Obama’s ‘U Didn’t Build That'” edition
Stop…Obama time! 😆
Humor alert, “you didn’t build that” edition
Heh. “It’s important to destroy their sense of individualism while they’re still young.”
Quote of the day, “MSM and Lewinsky not that dissimilar” edition
Heh. Video at link.
At Thursday’s Mitt Romney rally in Fairfax, Virginia, one Romney supporter lambasted the media in its coverage of the election.
“I think you guys are suck-ups,” the woman said. “I think you guys got your embroidered kneepads from the White House, buddy. That’s what I think.”
Are you effin’ serious? Administration forbids Marines from being armed while defending our embassy in Egypt?
U.S. Marines defending the American embassy in Egypt were not permitted by the State Department to carry live ammunition, limiting their ability to respond to attacks like those this week on the U.S. consulate in Cairo.
Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson “did not permit US Marine guards to carry live ammunition,” according to multiple reports on U.S. Marine Corps blog spotted by Nightwatch. “She neutralized any US military capability that was dedicated to preserve her life and protect the US Embassy.”
Well, I’m sure this whole “unarmed Marines” thingy is just a one-time thing, an aberration, an anomaly. Or not.
Could these b#stards in the Obamanation be any sicker or dumber?
Feckless Obama administration blasted for disgusting reaction to Libyan embassy massacre
Video link here, partial transcript here:
These optics suck, White House! I mean we have 4 Americans who are dead who were butchered and slaughtered because this administration did not have the foresight to fortify these embassies on the eleventh anniversary of 9/11. And there he is with all of his fanbois and fangirls in Vegas raising money while they scream ‘I love you!’ in the middle of an international crisis.
But hey, it’s ROMNEY’S STATEMENT that is drawing MSM scrutiny, right? Effin’ lapdog media.
Democrats honor vets at their convention…RUSSIAN vets
But hey, they “support the troops”, right? From the Navy Times:
On the last night of the Democratic National Convention, a retired Navy four-star took the stage to pay tribute to veterans. Behind him, on a giant screen, the image of four hulking warships reinforced his patriotic message.
But there was a big mistake in the stirring backdrop: those are Russian warships.
While retired Adm. John Nathman, a former commander of Fleet Forces Command, honored vets as America’s best, the ships from the Russian Federation Navy were arrayed like sentinels on the big screen above.
These were the very Soviet-era combatants that Nathman and Cold Warriors like him had once squared off against.
“The ships are definitely Russian,” said noted naval author Norman Polmar after reviewing hi-resolution photos from the event. “There’s no question of that in my mind.”
If you have not yet done so, feel free to go ahead and question their patriotism.
Obama’s DNC acceptance speech bombed, says…MSM?
His constituents and the MSM (pardon the redundancy) are mortified that their boy didn’t deliver the goods as well as Bubba did the night before. Some of the biggest B.O. sycophants are disappointed and/or panicked.
A rundown of the reactions here. A handful of excerpts, though:
CNN’s Wolf Blitzer: “A Lot Of Stuff We’ve Heard Before.” CNN’S WOLF BLITZER: “Going on to the next chapter right now, Jessica Yellin, our Chief White House Correspondent. You sat with me. We listened together. I thought there would be more specifics. There were a lot of goals expressed, generalities, a lot of stuff we’ve heard before. I didn’t hear any specific new initiative that the President unveiled.” (CNN, 9/6/12)
CBS’ Bob Schieffer: “It Just Didn’t Have That Spark.” SCHIEFFER: “But this as not the kind of speech that Bill Clinton made last night. It just didn’t have that spark.” (CBS, 9/6/12)
…
ABC News’ Rick Klein: “Strange Silence Prevailing In The Arena.” “Almost no confetti at #DNC2012, and strange silence prevailing in the arena” (Twitter.com, 9/6/12)
…
The Washington Post’s “The Fix”: “Certainly Not Among The Best He Has Ever Delivered…” “One person you won’t see in winners and losers is President Obama. His speech was certainly not among the best he has ever delivered — the #1 seed in those rankings is his 2007 Iowa Jefferson-Jackson dinner address — and, at times, it felt more like a State of the Union address rather than a convention acceptance speech.” (The Washington Post, 9/6/12)
The Associated Press: “Obama Urged Voters To Stay Patient Even Though His Economic Policies Have Failed To Fully Fix The American Economy.” “Obama urged voters to stay patient even though his economic policies have failed to fully fix the American economy. Once the candidate of hope, Obama’s message was hang in there.” (The Associated Press, 9/6/12)
Reporters buying Obama and Democrat merchandise at DNC convention…using fake names!
Nope…no liberal media bias! Excerpt:
Members of the media have apparently been using “fake” names to buy official Obama gear and contribute to the Obama campaign inside the Time Warner Cable Arena where the President is due to speak in a few minutes. During our travels around the arena, Politicker spotted a souvenir stand in one of the press stands selling T-shirts and buttons supporting President Barack Obama, “Democrats Are Hot” bumper stickers and other official Obama merchandise.
The souvenir stand was in a secure area only accessible to those with a media credential and buying campaign gear means contributing to the campaign, so we asked the woman working the cash register whether anyone at the press stand had been making purchases. Her answers were quite surprising.
The woman working at the souvenir stand told us she hadn’t been “too busy” during the day, but had seen business pick up in the past half hour or so. She then asked us whether we wanted to buy anything. When we informed her that our status as a reporter means we don’t buy campaign gear, she suggested a strategy other members of the media have apparently used to pick up their Obama swag.
“Have you ever thought of making up a fake name? That’s what the other guys do,” she said.
DWS explains four different versions on why the Godless party (Democrats) omitted God and Jerusalem from its platform
Why, it’s as if Democrats are liars AND Godless cretins! Summed up best by Allah:
In less than 60 seconds here, you’ve got four lies. One: She says the language was dropped because platforms are long and things get overlooked. True enough, they are long, but you’re kidding yourself if you think the language on Israel isn’t closely scrutinized. If the platform changed from 2008, it changed for a deliberate reason. Two: She says the platform was amended to reflect Obama’s “personal view,” which is a lie by omission. O’s personal view is what it is, but the administration’s official position on this issue is agnostic. Three: She says there was no discord on the floor. Yeah? Who were all those delegates booing then? And four: She says yes, obviously there were two-thirds in favor of adding the language. Again, eyewitnesses at the scene tell a different story. But then, this is Debbie being Debbie. Whereas other top flacks try to twist facts and shade the truth, she’ll tell you straight to your face that you didn’t just see and hear what you’ve seen and heard 20 times on cable news and YouTube this afternoon. That’s how you get to be chair of the DNC and a member of Congress instead of some no-name spokesman somewhere.
The left is impervious to both shame and facts.
2016: Obama’s America
Anyone seen this movie yet? If so, what do you have to say about it? Say as much or as little as you like.
“War on women” irony lost on Democrats at their convention
A tribute to the late Senator Ted Kennedy, who killed a woman with his car and let her die in a slow, torturous watery tomb as his pickled #ss wandered up and down the road, pondering his political future. Mary Jo Kopechne was unavailable for comment. Then again, so was Kennedrunk. Anywho, Teddy K also sexually accosted a waitress with Chris Dodd (Google “waitress sandwich Dodd Kennedy” if you don’t know).
Bill Clinton, a womanizing lout who raped Juanita Broaddrick.
Yet it’s Mitt Romney and the Republicans who have declared a “war on women”? Got it. Thanks for the clarification.
Irony: it’s not just for breakfast anymore.
MSNBC host implores women to hurry up and get abortions now, in case Romney wins in November
Sick.
Touré Neblett, a co-host of The Cycle on MSNBC, is garnering criticism from pro-life advocates today after sending out a re-tweet on Twitter encouraging women to get abortions in case Mitt Romney defeats President Barack Obama in November.
“Girls, get your abortions NOW in case the Republicans win,” the re-tweeted message said.
Please stop calling them “pro-choice”. They’re “pro-abortion”, pure and simple. They do NOT want you to choose life. They want you to choose infanticide, period.
