A district that would send a leftist #sshat like disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner to D.C. is, to quote Captain Obvious, a little left of center. It was assumed to fall easily into Democrat hands after Weinergate prompted the resignation.
Well, the seat is actually in danger of flipping red in a special election. Details:
For Democrats who hadn’t already started to panic over Tuesday’s special election in New York’s Brooklyn- and Queens-based 9th Congressional district, now would be a good time to start.
Republican Bob Turner led Democrat David Weprin by 6 points in the nonpartisan Siena College poll released this morning.
The nonpartisan survey conducted Tuesday through late Thursday found 50 percent of those polled would vote for Turner if the election were held “today” while 44 percent would vote for Weprin. Six percent of the 886 likely voters polled said they were undecided.
The numbers have flipped from a Siena poll a month ago, when Weprin had a 6-point lead. …
The seat may very well remain blue, and even if it flips red now, it will almost certainly revert to blue form next November. That said, it is hilarious to see the Dems dropping a half mill on a race that shouldn’t even be competitive. Such is the plight of the donks these days! 😆
When this sordid incident first broke and gained steam, I predicted he’d resign. Didn’t go out on a limb with that one, now did I?
Patterico has the timeline and lays out the evidence for you to come to your own conclusion. You really ought to check it out, because this thing (the story, not the weenie) could get huge!
The left and the MSM (pardon the redundancy) rallied around the Hick from Hope in 1998 and 1999 during the Lewinsky thing, using the “it’s a private matter” defense. I’m thinking that won’t be used nearly as often this time.
It’s official: Weiner admits what the rest of the world already knew, that he is a perv who sent the photos
Babs Walters before the presser: Maybe he sent his weiner pic to his wife?
Weiner: Um…no. Not really, Babs.
Weiner calls a press conference to fess up, sort of. Before he comes out, though, Andrew Breitbart steals the stage to basically say “I told you leftards, didn’t I?”, “Hey, how does my #ss taste?”, and “When’s my apology coming? You know, for saying I made this crap up and framed him and stuff?”
Video clip at RCP. partial transcript of which follows:
“I want to hear the truth. I want to hear the truth from Congressman Weiner and I would like an apology for him being complicit in a blame-the-messenger strategy,” Andrew Breitbart said at a presser before Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) took the podium — at the same place.
“I am accused of being a hacker. He said nothing. He allowed for that to go. The minions perpetuated that false, maliciousness and he went on to CNN to attack me and I feel he was complicit. You can talk. The girl’s story, I believe, will be on “World News Tonight,” and she can talk to you more specifically. I have seen a lot of this Congressman’s body and he is in very good shape and it appears to be his body. So … okay, everything that I have said so far has come to be true.”
Big Andy B, flipping the bird to the left and the MSM (pardon the redundancy)! That has got to chap their backsides! Like McDonald’s commercials say: I’m loving it! 😆
If you want to know just how low the MSM has truly, and I mean truly, descended, here’s the parting question shouted to Weinie the Perv as he was leaving the podium: “Were you fully erect, Congressman?” Wow. For the first time in a while, I don’t have any words to describe how I process that.
Weinie says he’s not resigning. Time will tell if he holds on to that, or if the NY Dems will draw his district such that he’s out of Congress.
The leftists who have been trying to say that former Congressman Chris Lee (R-NY), who resigned in disgrace after sending shirtless photos of himself to women on Craigslist, was WAY worse than Weiner showing his namesake to college girls? Yeah, I guess we’re going to have to call them on this one:
BigGovernment.com and BigJournalism.com have reported throughout the morning about the emergence of new details in the Weinergate saga, after a young woman came forward with new information that tends to undermine severely the theory that Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) was the victim of a “prank” or a “hack.”
The following photograph, reminiscent of that posted by former Rep. Chris Lee (R-NY) on Craigslist earlier this year, was allegedly sent to the young woman on Friday, May 20, 2011 via a Yahoo! email address that she claims was an alternate alias for Rep. Weiner.
A photo is at the link (as is the infamous photo of his underwear-covered woodrow).
Chris Lee (R-NY), sends photos of his shirtless self to women to whom he’s not married, forced to resign in disgrace.
Anthony Weiner (D-NY), sends photos of his shirtless self AND of his bratwurst to women to whom he’s not married, is…defended vigorously by the reprobates on the left?
Prediction: Call me naive, but I actually don’t think he politically survives this. I smell a resignation within a couple of weeks, lest Andrew Breitbart release more dirt on this scumbag. And apparently, there is much, MUCH more than this to come.
BREAKING: A second woman is coming forth with allegations of photos, chats, e-mails of Weiner’s weiner
Still gonna ride that “I was hacked/pranked” pony, Weiner? From Big Breitbart:
A new woman has come forward with what she claims are photographs, chats, and emails with Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY). These appear to undermine severely Rep. Weiner’s explanations that he was the victim of a “prank” or a “hack.”
The detailed new information suggests that the Brooklyn- and Queens-based representative and the young woman in question were involved in an online, consensual relationship involving the mutual exchange of intimate photographs.
At least Debbie Whatshername-Schmuck is taking the high road. Nah, I’m just effing with you:
Legal Insurrection recalls when Debs was a little more concerned with such debauchery:
Well, that Debbie Wasserman-Schultz should really get acquainted with this Debbie Wasserman-Schultz:
This goes beyond Rep. Foley, it goes to the values of the Congressional leadership. These are not family values, these are not American values. What was Wasserman-Schultz referring to in that 2006 quote? The behavior of Rep. Mark Foley (R-FL . . . are you watching those party labels?), who made advances towards 18 and 21 year old young men.In fact, she went as far as to demand the resignation of then Speaker Denny Hastert for not addressing the Foley matter quickly enough:
What I’ve called for is an investigation to be completed within 10 days. And quite honestly, yes, I do think that Denny Hastert should resign . . . I‘d like to see the Republican caucus call upon their leadership, Speaker Hastert, Majority Leader Boehner, to get this resolved quickly. Do it before the election. And I haven‘t heard them say that. They‘re saying have the FBI investigate, have the House Ethics Committee investigate. They need to push their leadership to get this resolved so that they can move on, and we can make sure that we can restore the trust that they have shaken the public in Congress.
Now there are obviously some major differences between the two cases, but a big part of Wasserman-Schultz’s complaint in 2006 was that Foley had not been previously sanctioned, despite evidence of a proclivity for hitting on much younger men.
You may have also heard from Wasserman-Schultz (if you’ve turned on a TV in the last two weeks) about her party’s “historic victory” in the NY-26 special election. Maybe she doesn’t remember that the special election wouldn’t have even been called if Republican leadership didn’t have the Craigslist congressman, Chris Lee, resign over his shirtless personal ad.
The Dems are still defending their vermin, as always.
Law enforcement wasn’t called to report the alleged “hacking” of his Twitter account. No, he called the cops for a more egregious offense:
So CBS 2 political reporter Marcia Kramer decided to go to his office on Capitol Hill to try to get you some answers.
You’ll never believe what happened.
Kramer tried to get an interview with the six-term New York Democrat and as a result had the cops called on her.
Kramer walked in to Weiner’s office, announced herself as being from CBS 2 in New York City and said she’d like to see the congressman. Those few words created quite the stir. Doors slammed and people pretended she wasn’t there.
Finally, brave press secretary David Arnold arrived. The following is the exchange Kramer had with him:
Kramer: “All I want is for him to say something to his constituents, the people who have to vote for him.”
Arnold: “I don’t think you can say he hasn’t said anything to his constituents. He spoke for nine hours yesterday.
Kramer: “But not to anyone in New York. You know, this is the sort of in-the-bunker in the capitol, not to anyone in New York.”
After Kramer left Weiner’s office, his staff called the Capitol Police.
Police officers asked for identification. One cop told Kramer that if she went into Weiner’s office and didn’t leave if she was asked, she could be arrested.
“If you go to an office and are asked to leave, you can be placed under arrest,” Officer Michael Miller said.
Kramer responded, “But I wasn’t refusing to leave.”
Kramer was never asked to leave Weiner’s office, but the fact that the cops were called is a clear sign that the stress of this so-called “Weinergate” controversy is taking its toll.
By the way, Chris Matthews doesn’t exactly have a tingle in his leg for Weiner or his story. Dude, when the chief moonbat on MSDNC thinks a liberal darling has jumped the shark, then how soon until Weiner goes limp?
I was giddier than a preteen girl at a Justin Bieber concert just typing that post title. 😆
I haven’t weighed in on this story yet for a couple of reasons: (1) it happened over Memorial Day weekend, and I generally tune out during holidays; and (2) I wanted to get more information as to whether this story had any legs.
For those of you who need a quick recap, here goes:
First class a-hole Anthony Weiner (D-NY)’s Twitter account sent a picture message to a 21-year-old female college student. The picture was of a man’s schlong (presumed to be Weiner’s weiner) bulging in a pair of underwear. The problem, though, was that it wasn’t a private message, but a public tweet. The picture was removed in about an hour or so.
The first story that Weiner was pushing was that his account has hacked, which is a crime. Just ask the little b#stard who hacked Sarah Palin’s e-mail account. However, it became puzzling that Weiner never called law enforcement. Instead, he publicly dismissed the incident as a prank. Since then, he has become combative with the MSM as his story has shifted and hasn’t added up. H3ll, he’s even been reduced to “I can’t tell if that photo is of me”. Seriously? Dude doesn’t know what his own junk or underwear looks like? That’s the wagon to which he’s hitching his defense? I mean, the MSM would love to dismiss the story, but they need Weiner to give them something to work with. Thus far, he hasn’t “thrown them a bone” (pun very much intended).
By the way, Director Blue has a great Twitter timeline breakdown.
Prediction: Some staffer who has access to Weiner’s account will fall on his sword to protect his boss. Weiner is such a popular cad among the moonbat base that even if it’s proven that Weiner personally sent the pic of his weiner, the moonbatosphere will rally around him like they did all those years for the vehicular killer Ted Kennedy (who was unavailable for comment).
See, if you’re Christopher Lee (R-NY), a married man who took his shirt off on Craigs List, you get run out of town on a rail; but if you’re Anthony Weiner, a married man getting to send unwanted photos of your junk to a college student is just a perk of the job to which you are entitled. The left is depraved that way.
Anywho, time will tell if anything becomes of Weinergate. But as of today, senior Dems are worried that a Sheen-like meltdown is coming.
