Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

“Jena Six” member in trouble with the law…again

Think back to the “Jena Six” incident last year, in which the black community hailed as heroes  six black thugs who beat up a white kid.  My prior posts on the issue are here, if you need a quick refresher.  Anywho, I was appalled at how these thugs were viewed as honorable and innocent victims of Whitey.  Hell, BET even had these thugs on one of their awards shows!

Well, as luck would have it, one of the “Jena Six” just got arrested in his new town, proving once again that while you can take the thug out of the ‘hood, you can’t take the ‘hood out of the thug.  From The Smoking Gun:

One of the “Jena Six” defendants was arrested yesterday for allegedly assaulting a fellow student at a Texas high school. Bryant Purvis, 19, was busted on the misdemeanor charge following an 8:30 AM altercation at Hebron High School in Carrollton, where his family relocated from Louisiana. According to the below arrest warrant affidavit, Purvis assaulted a male student he apparently suspected of vandalizing his auto. Along with choking the 18-year-old victim, the 6′ 6″ Purvis allegedly slammed the teenager’s head on a table. Purvis, pictured in the mug shot at right, was briefly jailed before being released on $1000 bond. Purvis and five codefendants were originally charged with attempted murder in connection with the December 2006 beating of a white high school student in Jena, Louisiana. The case, which triggered protests over the severity of charges brought against the so-called Jena Six, remains pending, with Purvis scheduled for a March trial on reduced charges of aggravated battery and conspiracy. If convicted of those felonies, Purvis could face a maximum of more than 20 years in prison.

Smile, you “Jena Six” defenders…you just got pwned for your naivete!

Jena 6 thugs getting sued

Yo, yo, yo…game on, be-yotch!  From USA Today:

The family of a white student allegedly beaten by six black classmates in rural Louisiana has filed a civil lawsuit against the teens’ parents, the adult teens, an additional student and the local school board.

One teen, Mychal Bell, pleaded guilty to battery in juvenile court on Monday in the attack. Five other teens face criminal charges in the case and are awaiting court appearances.

Justin Barker, 18, and his parents, David and Kelli, allege in the suit that seven Jena High School students attacked Justin on Dec. 4, 2006, as he left the school gym.

The suit names the attackers as the “Jena Six” students — Bell, Bryant Purvis, Robert Bailey Jr., Carwin Jones, Theo Shaw and a juvenile — as well as a second juvenile.

Law enforcement officials have not named the second juvenile as one of the attackers.

“Petitioners show that Justin was singled out by Mychal, Bryant, Robert, Carwin, Theodore (and the two juveniles), and that the malicious and willful attack of Justin was of such extreme nature so as to require emergency medical care and treatment for the harm inflicted by the attack, and resulting in extensive and permanently disabling injuries,” the lawsuit states.

Barker was hit by Bell, knocked unconscious and then repeatedly kicked and stomped by a group of students, according to testimony and court documents. …

It gonna be hard to buys dat bling and take yo’ shawty out with no cash, homie!

BET gives props to Jena Six

“Yo, yo, yo!  I’d like to give a shout out to my homeys, the Jena 6.  Th’ Man is tryin’ to keep them down ‘cuz they put the beatdown on Whitey.  Wassup wit’ dat, dawg?”

BET invited two of the thugs who viciously assaulted a white kid to their celebrity-studded Hip Hop Awards show.  They got a standing ovation and were lionized for their “victimhood”!

Side thought: do you see any white American lionizing the student who got assaulted?  No!  Why?  Because he supposedly engaged in racist behavior that nearly all people (regardless of race) find appalling.  Why is it that so many times, the black community cannot properly condemn what any proper-thinking individual can plainly see is wrong?  The Jena 6 are not heroes.  They’re gangsters.  Period.

Fortunately, there has been much criticism from the black community, including himself.  However, as long as displays like this from BET continue to Bill Cosbyhappen, race relations will continue to deteriorate.

Jena mayor gets ticked off at Mellencamp song

John Who? Never heard of him. From Breitbart/AP:

A video in which rapper-actor Mos Def asked students around the country to walk out Oct. 1 to support the “Jena Six” escaped comment by this town’s mayor. But when John Mellencamp sang, “Jena, take your nooses down,” he took issue.

“The town of Jena has for months been mischaracterized in the media and portrayed as the epicenter of hatred, racism and a place where justice is denied,” Jena Mayor Murphy R. McMillin wrote in a statement on town letterhead faxed on Friday to The Associated Press.

A brief note from Mellencamp posted Thursday on his Web site says he is telling a story, not reporting. “The song is not written as an indictment of the people of Jena but, rather, as a condemnation of racism,” it says.

Nooses hung briefly from a big oak tree outside Jena High School a year ago, after a black freshman asked whether black students could sit under it. A white student was beaten unconscious three months later, in December.

Mellencamp’s song opens, “An all-white jury hides the executioner’s face; See how we are, me and you?” As he sings, images of Jena, the high school and the tree are followed by video from the 1960s, including civil rights marchers, police beatings, and President John F. Kennedy and the Rev. Martin Luther King speaking. Still images include one of a protest sign reading, “God demands segregation,” a stylized drawing of people in Ku Klux Klan robes and an older image of a black man in shackles, begging.

“I do not want to diminish the impression that the hanging of the nooses has had on good people,” McMillin wrote. “I do recognized that what happened is insulting and hurtful.”

But, he said, “To put the incident in Jena in the same league as those who were murdered in the 1960s cheapens their sacrifice and insults their memory.”

Oh, wait. Now I remember who this Menstrual-cramp guy is! He’s the same nutbar that said we should not have retaliated for Pearl Harbor in 1941. Yeah, I’m sure I’ll be losing sleep over what some washed-up 80’s moonbat thinks about my town.

Sharpton and his ilk think black teens should be able to beat white teens to bloody pulps

There’s just no other way to describe the lunacy demonstrated by that sorry #ss race-hustling poverty pimp Al Sharpton, his partner in crime Jesse “Hymietown” Jackson, and their ignorant minions who now think that blacks should be able to do whatever the hell they want to do to whites if said blacks are “disrespected”. From Seattlestan’s fishwrap:

JENA, La. — Thousands of chanting demonstrators filled the streets of this little Louisiana town Thursday in support of six black teenagers initially charged with attempted murder in the beating of a white classmate.

The crowd broke into chants of “Free the Jena Six” as the Rev. Al Sharpton arrived at the local courthouse with family members of the jailed teens.

Sharpton told the Associated Press that he and Reps. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, and William Jefferson, D-La., will press the House Judiciary Committee next week to summon the district attorney to explain his actions before Congress.

This could be the beginning of a 21st century’s civil rights movement challenge disparities in the justice system, he said, and he said he planned a November march in Washington.

“What we need is federal intervention to protect people from Southern injustice,” Sharpton told the AP. “Our fathers in the 1960’s had to penetrate the Kennedy and Johnson administrations, we have to do the same thing.”

The six black teens were charged a few months after three white teens were accused of hanging nooses in a tree on their high school grounds. The white teens were suspended from school but weren’t prosecuted. Five of the black teens were initially charged with attempted murder. That charge was reduced to battery for all but one, who has yet to be arraigned; the sixth was charged as a juvenile.

The beating victim, Justin Barker, was knocked unconscious, his face badly swollen and bloodied, though he was able to attend a school function later that night.

District Attorney Reed Walters stressed on Wednesday that race had nothing to do with the charges in Jena.

Walters said he didn’t charge the white students accused of hanging the nooses because he could find no Louisiana law under which they could be charged. In the beating case, he said, four of the defendants were of adult age under Louisiana law and the only juvenile charged as an adult, Mychal Bell, had a prior criminal record.

“It is not and never has been about race,” Walters said. “It is about finding justice for an innocent victim and holding people accountable for their actions.”

“Disparities in the justice system”? Gimme a friggin’ break! The white teens weren’t prosecuted because as far as I know, doing stupid bigoted things like hanging a noose in a tree isn’t a crime. However, the last time I checked, violently assaulting someone is indeed a crime. I don’t have a problem with the idiot white snots being suspended, but unless they commited a crime, I don’t see what you can prosecute them for. The last time I checked, being a bigoted idiot wasn’t illegal, because if it were, then Jackson, Sharpton, et al would be incarcerated for eternity.

Seriously, though, it seems like whenever a black person commits a violent crime, their “bruthas and sistas” swarm to their defenses, regardless of whatever the facts may bear out. Has Sharpton or his minions condemned the violence that the black teens inflicted on the white teens? I haven’t seen anything to indicate this.

So while these race-baiting warlords are trying to maintain their relevance by ginning up outrage where none ought be, race relations could be set back several years with such public displays of idiocy. Then again, something tells me that this is exactly what the beneficiaries of racism (real or imagined) like Sharpton and Jackson and their ilk want to happen.
