Did Roberts’ ruling on ObamaCare actually HELP conservatism and help Romney?
Interesting analyses, from many different sources. Excerpts here, and you really should check them out.
Essentially, conservative pundits are wondering that while the ObamaCare ruling was a short-term win for Chairman Zero, maybe Roberts’ rejection of the Commerce Clause being used to regulate economic inactivity (which lower courts ruled was valid) will prevent future Congresses from trying to use that clause to expand the power of the federal government and thus advance the cause of limited government. Perhaps that cause, plus the outrage from the ruling which will galvanize the conservative base to rally around Romney (which they may not have otherwise done), will put Romney and Republicans in charge…or so the thinking goes. And if Romney and Republicans take control, they will definitely repeal ObamaCare…which means that ObamaCare got repealed PLUS the Court will have prevented similar abuse of the Commerce Clause in future sessions.
Anywho, that’s the school of thought…or spin, depending on how you look at it. What do YOU think?
Paging Mitt Romney re: ObamaCare
Now that the Court has ruled that the federal government can make you buy anything if they just call it a “tax”, I hope Mitt Romney and the Republicans are smart enough (yeah, I know, that’s laughable) to ride this abortion of a ruling into November.
I’m watching my country die.
Obama declares war on Arizona
Even though the administration won on three of four points in its lawsuit against AZ for the state’s criminal immigration law, Team B.O. is bent that the Court allowed the profiling aspect to remain. So, naturally, Chairman Zero will honor the rule of law and assist AZ in any way possible.
The Obama administration said Monday it is suspending existing agreements with Arizona police over enforcement of federal immigration laws, and said it has issued a directive telling federal authorities to decline many of the calls reporting illegal immigrants that the Homeland Security Department may get from Arizona police.
…
That means police statewide can immediately begin calling to check immigration status — but federal officials are likely to reject most of those calls.
This authoritarian jack#ss has GOT to go come November.
Breaking news: Obama is a pathological liar
In other breaking news, water is wet. Excerpt:
The Obama Record: The most frightening aspect of this president may not be his radical ideology but his rank dishonesty in selling that ideology. Now he’s been caught lying about family racism.
In “Dreams from My Father,” his 1995 memoir, Obama used the story of his paternal grandfather’s imprisonment and torture at the hands of British colonists in Kenya as an example of white cruelty. He claimed Hussein Onyango Obama was unjustly detained for six months before being released a crippled, lice-ridden “old man.”
In fact, none of it is true, according to Washington Post editor and biographer David Maraniss, who traveled to Kenya to investigate the tale. His grandfather was not detained or beaten by his “white rulers,” as Obama, writing as a 34-year-old lawyer, claimed.
This is only the latest example of a growing body of fabrications, embellishments and outright lies told by this president, who has a real and possibly pathological problem with the truth.
Stacked up, his whoppers would make even Bill Clinton blush. …
There is a laundry list of lies, including one I mentioned leading up toThe One’s coronation campaign about how Selma got his parents together…despite the fact they met several years before Selma and he himself was born four years before Selma! Anywho, the point is that he must lie in order to sell his radical leftist agenda, which is as popular as herpes.
I didn’t think we’d ever see as big of a liar in the Oval Office as BJ Clinton. But wow…this guy’s a real piece of work.
New Romney ad smacks Obama for his stupid “the private sector is doing fine” assertion
Team Romney is hitting this economic ‘tard pretty good these days, huh? Does President Jack@ss really think that the reason the economy hasn’t recovered is due to not enough government spending? Seriously?
Obama snubs anti-communism crusader Walesa but embraces socialist party leader
But hey, where would you get the crazy idea that ObaMao is some sort of leftwing nutjob or anything? Oh, I dunno.
Lech Walesa was once a trade-union activist. He was often arrested for speaking his mind against Communist oppression behind the Iron Curtain in Poland and for defying the Soviet Union. He was an electrician who, with no higher education, led one of the most profound freedom movements of the 20th century — Solidarity. He became president of Poland and swept in reforms, pushing the Soviet Union out of his homeland and moving the country toward a free-market economy and individual liberty. And President Obama doesn’t want him to set foot in the White House.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Polish officials requested that Walesa accept the Medal of Freedom on behalf of Jan Karski, a member of the Polish Underground during World War II who was being honored posthumously this week. The request makes sense. Walesa and Karski shared a burning desire to rid Poland of tyrannical subjugation. But President Obama said no.
Administration officials told the Journal that Walesa is too “political.” A man who was arrested by Soviet officials for dissenting against the government for being “political” is being shunned by the United States of America for the same reason 30 years later.
Meanwhile, one of the recipients of the Medal was Dolores Huerta, the honorary chair of the Democratic Socialists of America. So socialist politics are acceptable, but not the politics of a man who stood up and fought socialism.
Absolutely shameful. It was bad enough that Chairman Zero insulted Poland with his “Polish death camp” slander and then told them to get over it. But this is just further evidence that the man is a petulant, dyed-in-the-wool socialist ideologue.
Come on, America. Please get this disgusting pinko #sshat out of the White House.
Gov. Scott Walker wins union-backed Wisconsin recall election
Walker wins 53%-46%, more than his 2010 victory over the same #sshat. The spin from the left and the MSM (pardon the redundancy) is predictable: Don’t read anything into it, it doesn’t mean anything, all the people voting against Walker proves that his divisive style of politics doesn’t work (as opposed to all the people who voted for him proving that his style of politics does work), etc.
This poor, melodramatic sap thinks a state election’s outcome means the death of America, or something. Savor the rich, delicious moonbat sorrow, my friends:
